Professor Moriarty is on the run – he was last seen escaping in a hot air balloon over the Thames. Scotland Yard: Sherlock Holmes is Ravensburger's new version of the award-winning classic hide-and-seek game, set in London, for 2–6 players aged 10+, with a playing time of about 45–60 minutes.

One player takes on the role of Moriarty and moves secretly across the city, keeping track of the route in a travel log. Everyone else forms the team of detectives: Sherlock Holmes, his brother Mycroft, Dr. Watson, Inspector Lestrade and Irene Adler. Every detective has a special ability, so the hunters have to coordinate closely and combine their talents to corner their elusive opponent. Moriarty only shows himself now and then, and he can use his hot air balloon to slip away, so the detectives must read his ticket trail carefully and guess where he might be hiding. If Moriarty escapes, he wins; if the detectives catch him, they win together. The tension of the classic remains – one clever mind against a team – but the Sherlock Holmes characters, crime scene cards and bobby rings give it a fresh atmosphere.
