Azul: Duel – Decorate the Palace Ceiling, Day or Night ☀️🌙

Of all the tile-laying artists who decorated the walls of King Manuel I's palace in Azul, two stood out. Chosen by His Majesty to decorate the ceiling of the palace of Sintra, both masters must now show the king who is the finest artist in Portugal. Azul: Duel, published by Next Move Games, is a competitive strategy game for two players aged 10 and up.

Azul: Duel keeps the purity and elegance of the original Azul and adds an extra tactical dimension: besides drafting tiles, you also decide the pattern in which they will be placed. The game is played over 5 rounds, each with an acquisition phase, a dome-tiling and scoring phase, and a preparation phase. On your turn you place one of your player tokens to take a Dome-plate and add it to your Dome, pick all tiles of one colour from the sun side of a Factory, pick the top tiles of one colour from the moon sides of all Factories, or take a revealed Bonus chip. Will your vaults look more beautiful by day or by night? Scoring tablets set the end-game goals and can be varied once you know the game. The player with the most points at the end of the fifth round wins. The box holds 75 acrylic tiles, 18 Dome-plates, 20 Bonus chips, 5 Factories and a tower.
