Langland Rommé – How Long Can Your Animal Get? 🦒🐍

In Langland, animals can stretch out – the longer, the better! Langland Rommé by Nicola Riehemann, illustrated by Anne Pätzke and published by Pegasus Spiele, is a children's version of rummy for 2–5 players aged 4+, taking up to about 20 minutes.

The 60 cards show the front part, the middle part and the back part of five different animals. Everyone gets six cards, and one card is placed face up to start the discard row. On your turn, you draw a card from the deck or from the discard row. Then, if you can, you lay out an animal: a front part and a back part of the same animal are enough – and you may already add middle parts. Instead of laying out a new animal, you can also make one of your own animals on the table longer by adding middle parts. You do not have to lay out cards; you can simply place one card from your hand in the discard row. The player who plays their last card wins. If the deck runs out first, the player with the longest animal wins. Variants let you draw two cards or score points for middle parts. Because the rules need no numbers and no reading, even young children can join in – and grown-ups enjoy watching the animals grow longer and longer.
