Bubbly – Float Your Bubble Through the Sky 🫧☁️

Bubbly by Tobia Botta, published by Helvetiq, is a light card game about a soap bubble's journey. Fill your lungs and blow your bubble as far as possible through the sky, while the other players try to hamper you. It is for 2 to 4 players aged 6+ and takes about 15 minutes.

Each round, one player is the Bubble and the others are the Sky, and the roles switch every round. The Bubble gets 12 cards, while the Sky players get their own hands. Starting next to the Starting card, a Sky player lays three cards in a column, creating three levels. The Bubble then places one card face down on the new column: a card matching the colour of a level lets the bubble rise or stay at that level, while a card of any colour sends it one level lower. Then the next Sky player builds a new column, and so on. The round ends when the Bubble cannot move on or has played all 12 cards, and you note how many cards they played. Once everyone has been the Bubble, the highest score wins, with the final level breaking ties. The rulebook even explains why real soap bubbles eventually pop.
