Everdell – Build a Woodland City 🌳🦔

Beneath the boughs of towering trees, a small civilisation of forest critters is ready to grow. Everdell by James A. Wilson is a worker-placement and tableau-building game for 1 to 4 players aged 13 and up, in about 40 to 80 minutes.

You lead a group of critters and build your own city in the valley of Everdell. Send your workers to collect the four resources – twigs, resin, pebbles and berries – and spend them to play cards into your city. There are two kinds of cards: critters, the residents who bring abilities and points, and constructions, the buildings that give you resources, effects and space for the right residents. Some constructions even let you welcome a matching critter for free, so clever combinations pay off. You can take cards from your hand or from the shared meadow in the middle of the table, but your city has room for only 15 cards, so every choice counts. The game runs from late winter through spring and summer into autumn: each time you prepare for a new season, you gain more workers and new possibilities. When everyone has finished, the most prosperous city wins. There is also a solo mode against a rival, so you can play on your own.
