Snowhere – Put Out the Fire, Card by Card 🔥❄️

Snowhere is a card puzzle by Steffen Benndorf, published by NSV in its NatureLine series. A world of flames lies before you, and you turn the cards into snow to put the fire out. Play solo or cooperatively with as many players as you like.

Shuffle the 111 cards and spread them out fire side up into one chaotic, connected carpet of flames. Players take turns in clockwise order and may discuss their choices. On your turn, you take a fire card that is not covered by any other card – carefully. Then you flip it to its snow side and place it back on the flames wherever you like. There are rules for a thick blanket of snow: snow cards must always slightly overlap, cards at the edge must stick out a little, and a snow card must never cover exactly one fire card. Every card you take uncovers new flames, so choosing the right card is the whole puzzle. Six cards show a giant snowflake on their snow side; if you find one, set it aside. The game ends when no one can take a fire card any more. Then you use your giant snowflakes to fill remaining gaps. The fewer flames are still visible, the better your result – cover them all and you have solved the puzzle. A calm game of about 20 minutes for ages 8+.
