Quick – Sort Fast, With One Hand ✋🃏

All players try at the same time to sort the cards in front of them by the round's criteria. The catch: you may use only one hand and never hold more than one card at a time. Quick by Günter Burkhardt (Kosmos) is a fast card game for 2–6 players aged 8+, about 30 minutes.

Every card has a unique number from 1 to 72, plus a colour, a letter and a flame symbol in different sizes. At the start of each round, task cards decide how to sort: for example by colour first and then by number, from top to bottom or the other way round. The more criteria you choose, the harder it gets. Everyone gets a face-down pile of cards. On the call of "Quick!" all players sort at the same time – one hand only, one card in your hand, all other cards face down. Whoever thinks they are done calls out "Done". Then the piles are checked in the order players finished. If your pile is correctly sorted, you win a chip – but there are always fewer chips than players, so at least two players go away empty-handed. Speed matters, but rushing causes mistakes. Each chip you have means one extra card to sort in the next round, which gives slower players a chance until the very end. The first player to win their sixth chip wins the game.
