Coup – Trust No One 🎭👑

In a city ruled by corruption and intrigue, only one player will hold on to power. Coup by Rikki Tahta, published by Indie Boards & Cards, is a fast bluffing and deduction card game for 2 to 6 players aged 13 and up, in about 15 minutes.

Each player starts with two face-down character cards – your influence – and a couple of coins. The deck holds five characters, three copies of each: the Duke, the Assassin, the Captain, the Ambassador and the Contessa. Every character has its own action or can block someone else's: the Duke collects taxes, the Captain steals coins, the Assassin tries to eliminate an influence, the Ambassador exchanges cards, and the Contessa blocks the assassination. The twist: you may claim any character, whether you hold it or not. If someone doubts you, they can challenge – and whoever is wrong loses one influence. Gather seven coins and you can launch a coup that no one can block. Lose both cards and you are out; the last player with influence wins. With simple rules and quick rounds, Coup is easy to bring out again and again, and every game is a new battle of nerves and bluffs.
