"Welcome to the Bureau of Investigation, agents! Here are five very peculiar cases." Bureau of Investigation: Investigations in Arkham & Elsewhere by Grégory Privat (Space Cowboys) is a stand-alone investigation game set in the Cthulhu Mythos, for 1–8 players aged 14+, with about 90 minutes per case.

The game takes you to 1920s America to uncover hidden threats from Elsewhere. You play agents of the BOI, trained in modern investigative methods. It follows the rules of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective and adds new investigative mechanics. Each case begins with an introduction and a setup listing the components you may use – maps of Arkham and Boston, a directory, newspapers, a house plan and other clues. Then you follow leads of two kinds: Interviews, where you question people directly, and Investigations, where you search places, set up surveillance or tail suspects. Each lead matches a location in the directory, and you read the matching paragraph in the case booklet. When you think you have solved the case, or run out of leads, choose three locations where you will intervene to neutralise the threat, then read the solution and your final score. The cases draw on the strange and paranormal tales of H.P. Lovecraft, but you don't need to have read them – simple logic is enough, even if some elements remain beyond human comprehension by design.
