Twenty new peoples are ready to transform the terrain. Terra Mystica: Fan Factions from Feuerland Spiele, published in English by Capstone Games, adds 20 new factions to the classic strategy game – all of them submitted by fans and then vetted for the expansion.

Each faction brings its own twist to familiar Terra Mystica play. The Architects focus on building bridges, the Selkies build on the river, and the Kingdom of Ember uses lava instead of spades. The Prospectors replace spades with Golden Spades, the Goblins use treasure to gain rewards, and the Treasurers store coins, workers and priests in a treasury to double them. The Time Travelers score previous and next rounds, the Geologists transform changing terrain with their Glowing Rock, and the Firewalkers let a Pyro token dictate their power gain. Others interact with more bonus cards, start with a stronghold or use three different terrain types each game. The faction designers include Isaac Childres and Jamey Stegmaier among many others. All factions are fully compatible with the base game, Fire & Ice and Merchants of the Sea. The box contains 10 double-sided faction boards, 10 double-sided faction tokens and the faction-specific tokens: a Pyro token, magic lamps, glowing rocks, time-travel devices and treasure tokens. The Terra Mystica base game is required to play.
