Tails on Fire – Bring the Fire Home 🔥🦝

Once upon a time, Iguana stole fire from the village and fled to the sky. Opossum found his hiding place, lulled him to sleep and stole the fire back with her tail – or so the Huichol tale goes. In Tails on Fire by Thomas Sellner (HeidelBÄR Games), you are the opossums.

Each player has a set of 12 cards: opossums numbered 1 to 9, a +1 trickster, a bonfire and a den. At the start of a round everyone secretly chooses just 3 opossums to use. Then the hunt begins. Someone has to play the starting number shown on the Iguana pile; after that, each card must be exactly one higher than the top card, and after 9 comes 1 again. On your turn you play a card or pass – passing does not take you out. If your card is still on top when your turn comes around again, you win the round and take a fire card. Opossums are loyal only to family: if another player's fire stack shows the same number as your winning opossum, you steal their fire too. Cards you played are exhausted for the next round, so choose wisely. When the Iguana pile runs out, the most flames wins. With 2 or 3 players a simple Rogue joins the game.
