Cockroach Poker Royal – Bluff Like Royalty 🪳👑

Palm off as many cards as you can on the other players – and don't get caught. Cockroach Poker Royal (German: Kakerlakenpoker Royal) by Jacques Zeimet, published by Drei Magier Spiele, adds royal cards and special cards to the bluffing classic. For 2–6 players aged 8+, in about 20 minutes.

On your turn you slide a card face down to another player and make a claim: stink bug, cockroach, bat, fly, toad, rat, scorpion – or royal, meaning any animal with a crown. Your claim does not have to be true. The receiver can call »right« or »wrong« and reveal the card; whoever judged wrongly has to place it face up in front of them. Or the receiver can secretly look at the card and pass it on to someone who hasn't seen it yet, with the same claim or a new one. Royal cards have two right answers – their animal or »royal« – and whoever collects one also takes the top card of the penalty pile. Two special cards spice things up: the »Subject« is right for every animal without a crown, and the blank »Black« card is always wrong. The game ends when someone has four animals of one kind in front of them – that player loses and everyone else wins. With two players, passing is not allowed and five of a kind loses.
