Word Colony – Where Trivia Meets Words 🔤🧠

Scrabble-style word building with a quiz twist. Word Colony, created by Dorian Sarmasan, is a card game for 2–4 players aged 10+, in which correct answers earn you letters and clever words earn you points.

On your turn you draw a card, then pick a card from your hand and read its trivia question with four options, A to D. The others secretly choose an answer with their answer cards. Everyone who is right draws new letter cards – and if nobody gets it, you collect them yourself, so it pays to pick a tricky question. Then you build English words from your letters and move your pawn forward by their letter values. Words can be extended, and a single word left alone can be conquered by a player who builds a higher-scoring word on it. Connect words through their last letters to form a colony; five words make a supercolony with bonus points. Black cards have negative values, but you can use their questions to make others lose points. You choose a quick, longer or full game before you start.
