Dorfromantik: The Duel – Friendly Rivalry in the Countryside 🌲🏡

The second visit to the world of Dorfromantik is not about working together but about friendly competition. Dorfromantik: The Duel by Lukas Zach and Michael Palm, published by Pegasus Spiele, keeps the core mechanisms of the Spiel des Jahres 2023 winner, but splits the play area in two.

The game contains two identical copies of each landscape tile. Whenever a tile is revealed, both sides take one and add it to their own landscape. By the end, the two landscapes will look quite different, depending on how each side approached the challenge. As in the original, you score by completing tasks: forests, fields, villages, rivers and railways of the right size bring you points. Two new task types add fresh twists: Double Tasks and Wraparound Tasks. Two new modules, Task cards and Points of Interest, expand the options even further; you can play them separately or combine them for greater challenge, more variety and more interaction. If you own Dorfromantik – The Board Game, you will also find expansion components for it in the box: 7 task tiles with matching markers, 4 achievement cards and special tiles, plus a photographer and camera markers. The Duel is designed for two players or two teams and supports up to four players when you combine two copies.
