Lacuna – A Cosy Game of Mystical Geometry 🌸🌙

Flowers float on a pond at night. Lacuna by Mark Gerrits, published by CMYK, is a calm and clever abstract game for exactly 2 players about collecting flowers.

At the start, the coloured flowers are scattered across the play mat. On your turn, you draw an imaginary straight line between two flowers of the same colour – the line must not be blocked by any other flower or pawn. You place one of your six pawns anywhere along that line and collect both flowers. Then it is your opponent's turn. Bit by bit, the pond empties, and the remaining gaps become harder to read. Once all twelve pawns are on the mat, every flower still left goes to the player whose pawn is closest to it. Now count: you win a colour by holding the majority of its flowers, and you win the game by winning the majority of the colours. Simple to learn, beautiful to look at and surprisingly tense in the final moves – Lacuna is a lovely game for a quiet evening for two.
