Oh My Socks! – Pair Them Up Before the Wash 🧦🌀

Socks come in twos, but one always seems to go missing in the washing machine. Oh My Socks! from Helvetiq is a quick card game by Antoine Bauza and Théo Rivière for 2 to 5 players aged 6+, playing in about 15 minutes.

Your goal is to build the finest sock collection before the washing cycle starts. On your turn, you draw two cards. You add one of them to your collection and apply its effect, if it has one: you might give someone a surprise sock or steal a sock from another player. The other card goes to the player on your left or right, depending on the direction of the arrow. Because every turn means passing a card on, you always have to think about what you are handing to your neighbours. The game ends as soon as the Washing Machine card is drawn. Then everyone counts their points, but only patterns with an even number of socks score. If you end with an odd number of socks in a pattern, you cannot pair them up and that pattern scores nothing, so a single unlucky sock can spoil a whole set.
