Qawale Mini – Stack, Spread, Line Up Four! ⚫⚪

Inspired by the little stone piles that hikers stack along mountain trails. Qawale Mini by Romain Froger and Didier Lenain-Bragard, published by Gigamic, is a compact abstract strategy game for 2 players aged 8 and up, in about 15 minutes.

Each player has eight pebbles of their colour – light or dark – and eight tan pebbles start the game in piles in the four corners of the board. On your turn, you place one of your pebbles on top of any pile. Then you pick up the whole pile and move it, dropping one pebble on each space you cross, so the stones spread out across the board. The goal is simple: be the first to line up four pebbles of your colour in a row, as seen from above. Since every move shifts the stones of both players, you always have to think one step ahead – an innocent-looking move can set up a win for your opponent. The rules fit in a minute, but the game rewards careful planning.

🪨 Stack

Add a pebble to a pile.
