Garden Getaway – Run Before the Gardener Comes 🐢🥬

Every summer, the garden animals get together for a huge feast: flowers, lettuce, cabbage, anything they can find! But today a terrible surprise is waiting – the Gardener, furious to see them feasting on his veggie patch. Run! Garden Getaway by Corentin Lebrat and Jonathan Favre-Godal, illustrated by Wouter Pasman and published by Gigamic, is a race game for 2 to 4 children aged 4 to 7.

The garden is a row of tiles leading from the Starting tile to the Gate, and all four animal pieces start at the beginning – no matter how many children are playing. At the start, each player secretly draws an Animal card to find out their favourite animal. On your turn, you roll both animal dice and choose which one to use. Depending on the result, you move the animal shown forward one tile, move one of two animals forward, or move any animal back one tile. Because you choose between the dice, you will often move animals other than your own. The first animal to reach the Gate and escape the garden wins, and the player holding that Animal card wins the game. For older children, there is a version for ages 6 and up: turn the tiles to the side with effects and add the four Objects – Lettuce, Bush, Skateboard and Trampoline – for more twists.
