Akropolis: Athena – Win the Favour of the Goddess 🏛️🦉

Akropolis: Athena is an expansion for the Akropolis base game, set in the ancient Mediterranean, where architects compete to build prestigious cities. Akropolis: Athena by Jules Messaud, illustrated by Pauline Détraz and published by Gigamic, is for 1 to 4 players aged 8 and up, in about 25 minutes. The Akropolis base game is required.

The theme revolves around gaining the favour of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war and artisans, to earn riches and honour. The expansion integrates the core rules of the Akropolis base game with an added challenge: completing Construction cards. To do so, you build layouts within your city that match the cards. As you complete them, you acquire parts of the Statue of Athena and gain mini-tiles to enhance your city. Each architect can complete each Construction card only once, so you need to manage your resources and placements carefully to make the most of your points. The game ends when there is only one tile left in the Construction Site and all the stacks have been used. Points are counted as usual, but players who have completed the Statue of Athena gain extra points for their Stones, adding a further layer of strategy. The most prestigious city at the end of the game wins. The box contains 18 Construction cards, 30 mini-tiles, 4 Statues of Athena and the rules.
