What lurks behind the eerie gate in the cave? EXIT: The Game – The Gate Between Worlds by Inka and Markus Brand, Ralph Querfurth and Martin Hoffmann, published by Kosmos, is a cooperative escape room game for 1 to 4 players aged 12 and up, in about 45 to 90 minutes.

You have followed an ancient map to a hidden cave that is said to hold a mysterious gate. Inside, you find a large metal circle of concentric rings set into the rock wall – and the rings can be turned. As you touch it, everything goes dark. When you wake up, you are no longer in the cave but in a bizarre new world. How will you find your way back? Only by working together, solving riddles as you travel from world to world, can you return home safely. The worlds come as eight posters, and you will need to crack codes, open locks and combine cleverly. Because you mark up, fold and tear the materials, the game can only be played once. The level is Advanced (3 of 5). A tutorial and timer are available in the free Kosmos app, but you can also play without it.
