Brass: Birmingham – Build an Industrial Empire ⚙️🏭

Brass: Birmingham tells the story of competing entrepreneurs in the West Midlands during England's Industrial Revolution, between 1770 and 1870. This heavy economic strategy game by Gavan Brown, Matt Tolman and Martin Wallace (Roxley Games) is for 2–4 players aged 14+, in about 60–120 minutes.

You build coal mines, iron works, cotton mills, breweries, potteries and manufacturers, and link the towns with canals and later railways. The game is played in two halves: the Canal Era, then the Rail Era, where the network changes and you have to adapt your plans. Hand management drives every turn, and money, loans and income have to be balanced carefully. Coal, iron and beer flow through the shared network, so you can use your rivals' industries – and they can use yours. A variable turn order system rewards spending wisely, and the board setup changes from game to game, so every play unfolds differently. Brass: Birmingham is a full stand-alone sequel to the original Brass. If you know Brass, you will find most of the core rules familiar, along with new industries, new canal and rail scoring and new strategies.
