Great Western Trail: Argentina – Across the Pampas 🐂🚢

A cattle drive at the end of the 19th century. Great Western Trail: Argentina by Alexander Pfister, published by Lookout Games, is a standalone strategy board game for 1 to 4 players aged 12 and up, in about 75 to 150 minutes.

You are the owner of an estancia in Argentina, and your goal is to guide your cattle across the Pampas to the port of Buenos Aires. Along the trail, you manage your herd of cattle cards, hire workers, put up buildings and decide which stops will help you most on the way. New in Argentina are the farmers: help them along the route and they give you grain, a new resource. Once you reach Buenos Aires, your cattle are loaded onto ships bound for European ports – and you need grain to load them. The ships set sail at fixed moments, so timing matters: arrive at the right time and you can make the most of the port-city rewards. Every journey along the trail is a chain of choices about your herd, your buildings and your route, and it plays well solo too.
