Rival Cities – Two Cities, One Harbour ⚓🏙️

A tense duel for two that feels like a tug-of-war. Rival Cities from Deep Print Games puts two players aged 10+ in charge of Altona and Hamburg, the neighbouring cities that fought over the harbour from the 16th century on.

Altona started as a small fishing village, and the great Hanseatic city of Hamburg didn't worry about it – until it grew fast enough to become a real rival. In the game you take turns moving a shared ink jar around the board. The first spaces are free; going further costs you goods. Where the ink jar stops, you can use that action card, play one of your special cards, pay a letter to do both, or take a new special card. There are several ways to win instantly – through prestige, ships, alliances or lawsuits – so you always have to watch what your opponent is building towards while hiding your own plan. If nobody wins early, the game ends after seven off-seasons and the player with the most stars wins. A game takes 30–45 minutes.
