Misty – Doodles on a Rainy Window 🌧️🖍️

It was a dark and stormy afternoon, and while you were doodling on the misty window, your drawings came to life. Misty from Helvetiq is a tactical card-drafting game by Florian Fay, designed by Felix Kindelán, and a game takes about 20 minutes.

Each round has two phases. In the construction phase, everyone is dealt six cards, chooses one, places it face down and reveals it at the same time as the others, then passes the remaining cards to the left. After six cards, a second hand of six is drafted the same way, but passed to the right. You build your window of 12 cards, either three wide and four high or four wide and three high, and every card must touch another one. Then comes the activation phase. Cards with an arrow move one space in that direction: trucks drive, rockets soar and leaves fall. A card that ends up covered cannot be activated, and a card that leaves the window is eliminated. When all the arrows have moved, the monster eats the flower. Finally, you score: the flower is worth 2 points, smile cards side by side score extra, other cards score 1 point, and overlapping cards blur and score nothing. The first player to win two rounds wins.
