The journey through Middle-earth continues. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – Trick-Taking Game, designed by Bryan Bornmueller and published by Office Dog, is a narrative-driven cooperative card game in which you take on the roles of heroes and villains from Tolkien's The Two Towers.

The game is a standalone follow-up to The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game – you don't need the first game, but you can continue the story where it left off. As the party splits up, the chapters follow Merry and Pippin's capture, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli on the road to the battle at Helm's Deep, and Sam, Frodo and Gollum on their trek to Mordor. In each chapter, every player takes a different character, and each character has a condition that must be met to pass the chapter together. The One Ring is the only trump, but rings can't be led until someone has played one off-suit. With three or four players you may only talk about public information, which makes clever play all the more important. With two players or solo, a card pyramid serves as the extra hand, and The Road Goes Ever On mode offers further replays. Stained-glass art brings the story to life, and chapters can be played in any order.
