Schotten Totten – Fight for the Border Stones 🪨🃏

Fight for control of the frontier that separates you from your opponent. Schotten Totten is a modern remake of Reiner Knizia's classic and acclaimed game for 2 players, with artwork by Djib. For players aged 8+, about 20 minutes.

Nine stones are laid out in a row between the two players, marking the border between two Scottish clans. Each player starts with a hand of six Clan cards, numbered 1 to 9 in six colours. On your turn, you play one card on your side of one of the stones and then draw a new card. At each stone, each player can place up to three cards, and the three cards form a combination – much like a poker hand. A run of the same colour beats three of a kind, which beats three cards of the same colour, which beats a simple run; otherwise, the higher total counts. Once your combination at a stone is complete and stronger than anything your opponent can still achieve there, you claim the stone. The first player to control five stones, or three adjacent stones, wins. You constantly have to decide where to commit your strong cards and where to bluff – a small game with lots of tension. The 10 Tactic cards add special effects for experienced players. IELLO publishes the game in its Mini Games line; the German edition comes from Pegasus Spiele.
