Clickety Clack – Clack the Dice, Fill Your Rows 🎲✏️

It sounds so simple: take a die from the pool, clack it onto a second die and write the sum of the two in any row of your board. Clickety Clack by Ralf zur Linde, published by NSV, is a tactical roll-and-write dice game for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up, in about 25 minutes.

At the start of each round, the player holding the dice rolls them all into a shared pool. On your turn you take any die, clack it onto another die that is still in the pool and announce the total. Then you write the number in the first free box from the left in one of the five rows on your board. Every row has its own requirement for which numbers it accepts, and your options shrink as the rows fill up. If you cannot or do not want to enter a number, you must mark a box in the miss zone, which costs minus points. The game ends after the round in which someone has written past the target line in three rows, reached the far-right box in two rows, or filled the whole miss zone. Double-sided boards offer an A side for first games and a B side with different rules.
