EXIT: The Game – The Lord of the Rings – Shadows over Middle-earth by Inka and Markus Brand, published by Kosmos, is an escape room game for 1 to 4 players aged 10 and up.

The wizard Gandalf has sent you on a crucial mission. Together you visit places from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, solve tricky puzzles and support the companions against Nazgûl, orcs and other dark figures. Make haste and carry out Gandalf's secret assignments: can you buy Frodo enough time to reach Mount Doom? As in every EXIT game, you combine riddle cards, the booklet and the decoder disc to find the right codes, and helpful clue cards make sure you never stay stuck for long. Because you mark, fold and tear the game materials, each box can be solved only once. With a difficulty level of 2 out of 5 and a playing time of about one to two hours, it is a good choice for Tolkien fans who want to try the EXIT series as well as for experienced teams looking for a themed adventure.
