Hues and Cues – How Well Can You Describe a Colour? 🎨🗣️

Hues and Cues by Scott Brady, published by The Op (USAopoly), is a colourful guessing game for 3 to 10 players aged 8+. A game takes about 30 minutes.

The board shows 480 shades. On your turn as cue giver, you draw a colour card, secretly choose one of its colours and give a one-word cue – but you may not use common colour names like blue or red, point to the board's letters and numbers, or name objects in the room. Everyone else places a piece on the shade they think you mean, and only one piece is allowed per square. Then you give a second cue of up to two words, and players place their second piece – or you pass if the first round went well. The scoring frame goes around the target: an exact hit earns 3 points, pieces inside the frame 2, and pieces just outside it 1. As cue giver you score for every piece inside the frame. Is "coffee" fresh black brew or a milky latte? Everyone sees colours a little differently, which is half the fun.
