Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra – Light Through Coloured Glass 🪟🎨

Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra from Next Move is a standalone game in the Azul family. Inspired by King Manuel I and the Royal Palace of Sintra, it asks you to craft stained-glass windows as a royal glazier. It is for 2 to 4 players aged 8+ and plays in about 30 to 45 minutes over six rounds.

Each round starts with glass panes drawn from the bag onto the factory displays. On your turn, you take all panes of one colour from a factory display or from the centre of the table, and the rest of that display slides into the centre. You then place your panes on one of the window pattern strips that your glazier can reach, or instead move your glazier back to the start of your palace board to get access to the earlier windows again. Plan carefully, because any panes you cannot place break: your broken-glass marker moves down and the panes drop into the glass tower, costing you points. The first player to take from the centre each round claims the starting player tile but also moves their marker one space down. Completed windows score points, and the pattern strips change your palace board from game to game. After six rounds, the player with the most points wins. It is a fresh Azul puzzle with movement and timing.
