Each round, one player rolls the four Central Dice, including the Central Special Die that is unique to Rolling Rivers, while every player also rolls their own Personal Dice. You then choose a wildlife type and collect the matching animals – bears, elk, foxes, hawks or salmon – recording them on your Tally Sheet. Nature Tokens let you take a single Dice Action per round to change your result. Next you may complete one of the available Habitat Cards and fill in the matching part of your Environment Sheet, where Completion Cards can unlock powerful combos. At the end of each round a new Habitat Card is revealed and the others move along, so timing matters. The game ends when there are no more Habitat Cards to reveal, and the highest-scoring ecosystem wins. Every player rolls and plays at the same time, which keeps the game quick at 15 to 30 minutes.
